Nice To Meet You
I’m Tyler Smyth. I’m a music producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. I’m a vocalist in the band dangerkids and co-creator of Last Band Standing, an education business that helps emerging artists navigate the music industry. I’m happily married with two beautiful kitties and I eat tacos and ice cream every chance I get.
When I’m not touring the world, writing music for people, producing records, or helping aspiring artists get their start, I’m undoubtedly jet-setting with my wife. Traveling has changed my life and I find it a constant source of inspiration for my musical work. I also love playing video games, hanging out with friends, and eating tacos and ice cream every chance I get.
You get the picture.
Discover What Moves You
Most people that know me would tell you, above all else, I’m passionate. With music in particular, I aim to create songs that move people. Pop, jazz, R&B — you name it. I’ve produced and written for everything from CMA nominated country artists to Billboard chart-topping rock bands, but the goal has always been the same: move somebody. My producing and writing sessions are fun and relaxed with a world-takeover attitude sprinkled on top.

Tell Me About Dangerkids
Dangerkids is an active-rock alternative band from Dayton, Ohio. We released our first album Collapse on September 17th, 2013 on Rise Records. We debuted at #134 for the Billboard Top 200, #9 for Hard Rock Album, #4 for Heatseekers, #29 for Independent Album, and #49 for Top Rock Album. Since then we’ve been lucky enough to play all around the world including tours in Australia (Soundwave Festival), Japan (headlining), Europe (Crown the Empire & Set It Off), and several US tours including a headlining tour, Warped Tour, Sleeping With Sirens, We Came As Romans, & many more.
Our brand new single and video “Things Could Be Different” has been officially released on November 11th, 2016 and offers just a taste of the insanity our upcoming sophomore release blacklist_ (release date TBA) promises to bring. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
What Is Last Band Standing?
The concept is a simple one: In the music industry there’s a lot of noise out there that seeks to distract you, and as someone who’s spent his entire existence learning to navigate the music business, I think I can help. I want to remove the guesswork that costs so many talented artists their career and free you up to focus on your craft. The sad truth we all know is that it isn’t the most talented musicians or lyricist that make it, it’s the smartest.
I partnered with my good friend and producer-turned-entrepreneur Joey Sturgis to begin work on an educational community that’s open to bands, singer-songwriters, and musicians of every level. It’s for people who want to make something. Build something. Go bigger and do better. It’s for people who feel like they’re capable of more. People who want to surprise themselves. Last Band Standing is a way for us to communicate with other aspiring artists and offer them career advice every step of the way.
